Chordiality will celebrate its 30th year with a magical evening of music in the beautiful acoustics of Bradford Cathedral.

Over the 30 years, the choir has performed more than 165 concerts and will delight its cathedral audience with a wide-ranging programme of popular choral favourites.

The National Festival Orchestra Strings, led by the leader of the National Festival Orchestra and Lydian String Quartet, Sally Robinson, will accompany the singers in a repertoire to engage all tastes.

The choir’s programme on the evening will include pieces from Mozart’s ‘Requiem Mass’, Ola Gjeilo’s ‘The Ground’, Vivaldi’s ‘Magnificat’ and the composition for strings by Karl Jenkins, ‘Palladio’.

The programme will be complemented with popular choral favourites from the choir’s repertoire over the years including the famous power ballad ‘Anthem’ from the musical ‘Chess’, made famous by Alfie Boe and Michael Ball, ‘As Long As I Have Music’ by Don Besig and Nancy Price and many others.

It’s been a while but it’s good to be back in Huddersfield. Chordiality sang at St Joseph’s Church over five years ago and are delighted to be making a return visit in what is the choir’s 30th year.

The choir’s second Christmas Concert for 2022 takes the singers back to Batley for a further performance of this year’s festive offering.

Chordiality last performed in Batley at the St Mary of the Angels Church to celebrate Christmas in 2017. This was to a large, appreciative audience and another good turnout is expected again this year.

The afternoon concert, which starts at 3pm, will ‘deck the halls’ with a selection of festive favourites old and new together with audience carols and Yuletide readings, both amusing and reflective. The concert is guaranteed to bring out the Christmas cheer for the festive period to come.

Best of British concert in Cottingley

Chordiality is delighted to be returning to St Mary’s and St Monica’s Church in Cottingley where the choir always receives a warm welcome from an appreciative audience.

The afternoon concert on Sunday 9 October, starting at 3pm, should be no exception when the singers will perform their current ‘Best of British’ programme. The guest musician on the day is Bradford flautist Rosie Walsh who has performed with the choir on a number of occasions.

The current programme, entitled ‘A Celebration of British Music’, has been extremely well received by audiences and includes well-known numbers that brings out the ‘Best of British’ in us all. The ‘Hallelujah Chorus’, ‘Nimrod’ and a medley from Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s ‘Phantom Of The Opera‘ are just a few of many highlights.
