A wonderful spring concert by Chordiality\u2019s singers in Otley left the audience asking for more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A grateful and congratulatory message from the concert organiser and priest at the town’s Our Lady and All Saints Church, Fr Nicholas Hird, summed up the enjoyment of the day: \u201cIt was a truly magnificent concert which has left many who attended asking a simple question\u2026 when are they coming back?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The choir\u2019s new concert repertoire featuring works by contemporary composers went down a treat with a polished performance throughout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concert, which took place on the afternoon of Sunday 26 April, was part of the celebrations to commemorate the church\u2019s 175th<\/sup> anniversary year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the glorious music, the concert also gave the church\u2019s Restoration Fund an incredible boost of \u00a31,600 through ticket sales and an audience raffle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funds go to adopted charity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Chordiality\u2019s AGM last year, members agreed that the community organisation Bradford Nightstop will become the choir\u2019s current adopted charity<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bradford Nightstop has been operating for 30 years in the Bradford, Calderdale and Kirklees areas.  The charity\u2019s emergency homing scheme provides accommodation for homeless young people in the houses of vetted, trained volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the choir\u2019s rehearsal last weekend, a donation of \u00a31,000 was given to the charity.  Much of this comprised donations from the audiences that attended Chordiality\u2019s two Christmas concerts and, in a gesture of goodwill, the choir brought the total up to the round figure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
