Another packed house greeted the singers this time at St Barnabas\u2019 Church in Heaton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Admission to the concert was free of charge as a gesture to provide those who couldn\u2019t attend the July Cathedral concert with an opportunity to see and hear the choir on home soil in Bradford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feedback from those attending has been tremendously positive and very complimentary, not just about the programme in general but also about the choir\u2019s high standard of singing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quite a few members of the audience hadn\u2019t heard the choir before and said how much they want to come and hear the singers again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The choir opened with the well-known O Fortuna<\/em> from Carl Orff\u2019s dramatic cantata Carmina Burana<\/em> in a programme that also included popular classics The Heaven\u2019s Are Telling<\/em> from Haydn\u2019s oratorio The Creation<\/em> and the ever-popular Chorus Of The Hebrew Slaves<\/em> from Verdi\u2019s Nabucco<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Particular favourites with the audience were the a cappella rendition of Cornish folk song There\u2019s Nothing Like Pilchards For Saving The Soul<\/em>, Richard Smallwood\u2019s celebrated gospel ballad Total Praise<\/em> and the performance of the Caccini\u2019s Ave Maria<\/em> featuring flautist Rosie Walsh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rosie and the choir performed the Ave Maria<\/em>, arranged by Patrick M Liebergen, for a recording made in 2021 which appears on the choir\u2019s YouTube site.  Such has been the popularity of the piece that the recording has now accumulated almost 10,000 views \u2013 not bad for a small Bradford choir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
