Chordiality joined with two other West Yorkshire choirs for a celebratory concert as part of the National Association of Choirs annual conference, which, this year, was held in the Wakefield.<\/p>\n\n\n

Tadcaster\u2019s Riley Smith Hall was booked for the evening concert and Chordiality\u2019s singers sang alongside the Leeds Male Voice Choir and The Rodillian Singers from Wakefield with each choir performing its own repertoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All three choirs put on an excellent show for the audience of delegates and guests with Chordiality offering an exciting and well-executed programme to close the first half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The choir opened with Henry VIII\u2019s Pastime With Good Company<\/em> followed by Eric Whitacre\u2019s Sing Gently<\/em>, the traditional folk song There\u2019s Nothing Like Pilchards For Saving The Soul<\/em> and Ola Gjeilo\u2019s The Rose<\/em>.  To finish, the Bradford singers raised the roof with The Heavens Are Telling<\/em> from Haydn\u2019s oratorio The Creation<\/em> and concluded with Richard Smallwood\u2019s gospel showstopper Total Praise<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music Director Peter Sherlock was delighted with his choir\u2019s performance: \u201cIn what was a varied programme of contrasting styles, the singers performed with great attention to detail and beautifully-controlled singing throughout,\u201d said Peter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was very rewarding to hear an appreciative response from the audience when it was announced that we would be performing Faur\u00e9\u2019s Requiem<\/em> at Bradford Cathedral in the summer.  The applause at the end of our performance were a tribute to the choir\u2019s hard work, execution and delivery.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
