{"id":1027,"date":"2022-10-29T16:57:28","date_gmt":"2022-10-29T15:57:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chordiality.com\/?p=1027"},"modified":"2024-03-13T12:36:20","modified_gmt":"2024-03-13T12:36:20","slug":"a-time-for-giving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chordiality.com\/index.php\/2022\/10\/29\/a-time-for-giving\/","title":{"rendered":"A time for giving"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Concert funds for worthy causes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The singers of Chordiality gave a magnificent final performance of their programme <em>&#8216;A Celebration of British Music&#8217;<\/em> and two local charities benefited on the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The choir saved their \u2018performance of the year\u2019 for the full house at St Mary\u2019s and St Monica\u2019s Church in Cottingley, Bradford, (9 October 2022) and nobody went away disappointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The singers excelled with a well-known and varied repertoire with music ranging from the Tudor period to today\u2019s Pop classics and a variety of genres in between.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Particular favourites with the appreciative Cottingley audience were the medley of numbers from the musical <em>Phantom Of The Opera<\/em>, the <em>Hallelujah Chorus<\/em>, a choral arrangement of Elgar\u2019s <em>Nimrod<\/em> and Henry VIII\u2019s <em>Pastime With Good Company<\/em>.&nbsp; The latter piece was accompanied by a \u2018medieval ensemble\u2019 comprising members of the choir and guest musician on the day, flautist Rosie Walsh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Helping the vulnerable<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"225\" height=\"240\" src=\"https:\/\/chordiality.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/12.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1038\" style=\"width:185px;height:197px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chordiality.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/12.jpg 225w, https:\/\/chordiality.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/12-34x36.jpg 34w, https:\/\/chordiality.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/12-45x48.jpg 45w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Proceeds from the concert went towards the sterling work of the St Vincent de Paul Society, commonly known as the SVP.&nbsp; The Christian charity works to tackle poverty and help those in need.&nbsp; Donations, as a result of the concert, are currently in excess of \u00a31,350 and contributions are still coming in.
