Concert funds for worthy causes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The singers of Chordiality gave a magnificent final performance of their programme ‘A Celebration of British Music’<\/em> and two local charities benefited on the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The choir saved their \u2018performance of the year\u2019 for the full house at St Mary\u2019s and St Monica\u2019s Church in Cottingley, Bradford, (9 October 2022) and nobody went away disappointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The singers excelled with a well-known and varied repertoire with music ranging from the Tudor period to today\u2019s Pop classics and a variety of genres in between.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Particular favourites with the appreciative Cottingley audience were the medley of numbers from the musical Phantom Of The Opera<\/em>, the Hallelujah Chorus<\/em>, a choral arrangement of Elgar\u2019s Nimrod<\/em> and Henry VIII\u2019s Pastime With Good Company<\/em>.  The latter piece was accompanied by a \u2018medieval ensemble\u2019 comprising members of the choir and guest musician on the day, flautist Rosie Walsh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helping the vulnerable<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Proceeds from the concert went towards the sterling work of the St Vincent de Paul Society, commonly known as the SVP.  The Christian charity works to tackle poverty and help those in need.  Donations, as a result of the concert, are currently in excess of \u00a31,350 and contributions are still coming in. Another beneficiary of the concert was Chordiality\u2019s adopted charity, the Bradford Baby Bank.  The Baby Bank supports vulnerable families by helping the frontline services that witness the ever-present difficulties faced by new parents who are struggling at the current time.  On a daily basis, the Baby Bank is approached to help young families by supplying such items as baby clothes, cots, mattresses, fire guards, soft toys as well as essentials like nappies, toiletries and baby milk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the concert, representatives of the charity held a collection and over \u00a3300 was donated by those who attended.  Again, those wishing to donate to the Bradford Baby Bank should contact the choir by e-mail at chordiality.choir@hotmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christmas Concerts 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The choir\u2019s focus now moves on to a traditional time of giving and the following two Christmas concerts are in the diary for December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
