Hear Chordiality in Otley this Christmas on Sunday 13 December at 3pm at Our Lady’s and All Saints Church – 4 Bridge Street, Otley LS21 3AZ.

The Christmas concert will mark the choir’s second visit to Our Lady’s and All Saints this year.
At a concert in April, an incredible £1,600 was raised through tickets sales and an audience raffle towards the church’s Restoration Fund. Such was the appreciation of the choir’s performance that an immediate request was made for a return visit and a Christmas date was booked.
Chordiality aim to please again with a festive feast to entertain all-comers. The programme will also be peppered with well-known audience carols and seasonal readings, both reflective and amusing.
Crowd-pleasers on this year’s Yuletide programme include O Holy Night, The First Noel to the tune of Pachelbel’s Canon, the King’s Singers’ commission of the enchanting Born On A New Day and two beautiful arrangements by choral guru John Rutter.
New Christmas pieces include an adaptation by Sarah Quartel of the 15th century medieval carol This Endris Night and an upbeat take of the ancient Advent hymn O Come, O Come Emmanuel, arranged by Jay Rouse.
Also included is an original piece composed by choir member, tenor Robin Reid (pictured below), entitled Joseph’s Dilemma. As the title suggests the song is based on the moral and social crisis faced by Joseph when he discovers that his betrothed, Mary, is with child.

This is Robin’s third composition to be sung by Chordiality and his second composed ‘from scratch’. His previous work was entitled Rock-a-bye Christmas and he also completed an arrangement of Walking In The Air.
Robin has been a member of Chordiality for 32 years and his musical talents are appreciated by the choir as he often helps out at the choir’s rehearsals.
