Chordiality welcomed guest artists wind and saxophone quartet Notability to join them for a marvellous afternoon of music at St Joseph’s Church in Huddersfield when both singers and musicians captivated their audience.

The concert raised money for a nationwide project, taken up by the parish in collaboration with Catholic Care and the Leeds Diocese, to create a home for either a Ukrainian or a Syrian family.  The concert amassed £500.  This will now be added to the already substantial monies raised towards the £11,000 threshold figure, which then guarantees Home Office support towards the venture.

Chordiality were delighted to perform at St Joseph’s to aid this initiative and the forthcoming Bradford Cathedral concert will see another very worthy cause benefit from the choir’s beautiful singing,  on this occasion, that of the crucial work provided by the Bradford Baby Bank.

The Baby Bank supports vulnerable families by helping the frontline services that witness the ever-present difficulties faced by new parents who are struggling at the current time.  On a daily basis, the Baby Bank is approached to help young families by supplying such items as baby clothes, cots, mattresses, fire guards, soft toys as well as essentials like nappies, toiletries and baby milk.

At the Cathedral concert in July, the singers will be joined by the National Festival Orchestra Strings for an exciting evening of music.  The repertoire on the night will include works from Mozart’s Requiem Mass, Vivaldi’s Magnificat, Faure’s Cantique de Jean Racine,Ola Gjeilo’s The Ground alongside many more popular choral classics and showstoppers.

Tickets, including refreshments, are just £16 and can be obtained via www.ticketsource.co.uk/chordiality or by phone at 07949 696064 or email chordiality.choir@hotmail.com.
