Chordiality will be welcomed by local church St Barnabas’ in Heaton, Bradford, for a concert to raise money for church funds and admission will be FREE for all attending – Sunday 12 October at 3pm.
St Barnabas’ has not only a beautiful acoustic but is also the home of the 53-foot-long Heaton tapestry, created for the millennium as a timeline in 357 individual pieces telling the story of Heaton. 427 people, aged from 6 to 93, contributed to it to create a community project which crossed boundaries between churches and faiths.

On the back of its triumphant concert in July at Bradford Cathedral, the choir will entertain with a varied programme featuring some of its current repertoire with the addition of a few items returning from past years.
At the Cathedral, Chordiality were joined by flautist Rosie Walsh and Rosie will join with the singers again as guest soloist at St Barnabas’.
Alongside solo pieces, Rosie will reprise the Caccini’s Ave Maria, which was one of the favourites at the Cathedral concert. The choir, with Rosie, made a recording of the piece back in the Covid lockdown which now appears on the Chordiality YouTube site. It currently has over 9800 views.
Some of the items from the July Cathedral concert to make it on to the St Barnabas’ song list will be The Heavens Are Telling from Haydn’s The Creation, Fauré’s sublime Cantique De Jean Racine, Verdi’s famous Chorus Of The Hebrew Slaves and the ever-popular gospel classic Total Praise by Richard Smallwood.
Carl Orff’s dramatic O Fortuna from his cantata Carmina Burana will make a welcome return to the programme as will Cornish folk song Nothing Like Pilchards For Saving The Soul, the hit song from the musical Guys And Dolls, Sit Down You’re Rocking The Boat, and an adaptation by Mark Brymer of the Otis Redding hit Sittin’ On The Dock Of A Bay.
