We Made History

In October 2013, Chordiality performed the soundtrack to a short film recalling Bradford City Football Club's historic visit to Wembley, for the league play-off against Northampton Town, on the 19th May, 2013.

The fifteen minute film, entitled,

'We Made History' - the Fans,

was the inspiration of life-long Bradford City fan, David Nowakowski. It consisted of amateur social media clips from supporters who made the trip to London, but also depicted fans' reactions from as far afield as Australia and Hong Kong.

The choir's contribution was to record the lyrics,

'Take me home, Midland Road,

To the place, I belong,

To the 'Valley', super city,

Take me home, take me home...'

to the tune of John Denver's, 'Country Road'.

Chordiality's reward was an invitation to attend the 'world premier' of this film at the 'Cubby Broccoli' theatre, in Bradford's National Media Museum. Also present were the Lord Mayor, team players, the club chairman, loyal supporters and the press.

Unbeknown to those in attendance, members of Chordiality, strategically located within the audience, rose to deliver a rendition of 'Take me home', as the lights went down. Needless to say, this was received with rapturous applause!

Proceeds from forthcoming screenings of this commemorative film will be donated to the 'Bradford Burns Unit' which played such an important role following the Bradford City fire in 1985.
